An article distributed by the Associated Press about two new films, "The Good German" and "The Good Shepherd," which offer a less-romanticized view of the politicking, compromising and exploiting that occurred following World War II quotes Andreas Daum, professor of history, who said, "Many of the Berliners -- and that's one of the ironies of history -- experienced the incoming Western and in particular American troops as liberators from the Soviet occupation. That is very important in understanding why Berlin could turn into a turf in which Americans perform both as liberators and Wild West men gambling on the black market." The article appeared in more than 100 news outlets nationally and internationally, including: The New York Times, The Washington Post, Newsday, Hartford Courant, Macleans (Canada), Albany Times Union, Boston Globe, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Atlanta Journal Constitution, Miami Herald, Fox News, Seattle Times, Yahoo Movies and Guardian Unlimited (UK).
